Adweek just posted their top 10 Best commercials of 2012 and man there are some amazing ones. Some were a little predictable, but all were wonderful.

New poster for the Total Recall remake? I’m not sure what they’re calling it. I believe it is supposed to be a “re-imagining” of the short story its based on by Phillip K. Dick. Either way, I really like the poster and the viral marketing they’ve been doing. It’s too bad the REKALL phone calls only work in the US.

I don’t like to see cool ideas in advertising copied by other companies that sell a similar product. BUT! I am always a fan of these slow-motion, soft music, high-action video game teaser trailers. I don’t know why. It is just a format that super does it for me. 

I believe Gears of War was the first one who really did it effectively. 

In no particular order, the other commercials like this I remember were:

• Halo 3
• Dead Island
• Transformers: Fall of Cybertron

Cat-vertising. This is amazing. 

Really awesome Monopoly ad. There are few others in green. I really enjoy this concept.

I’m not really sure what any of this ad is saying.
