Knife of the Party

Beautiful poster from the seven part Avengers poster series from Alamo Drafthouse. This particular poster “Black Widow” was done by artist extrodanaire, Olly Moss.

The whole write up about the poster series is here.

gpoyw Matthew Morgan Clay Art me

I made me with Clayyourself. Unfortunately I couldn’t change the color of my beard to red and keep the blonde hair. My hair is also a bit shorter, but whatever its free and on the internet. Its a neat little tool, I recommend for anyone with a few mins to spare to do something fun.

EDIT: I took it into photoshop to achieve a similar likeness to my actual beard.

Comics Supergirl Silver banshee Art George Perez

I’m really digging this cover to Supergirl #8. George Perez is obviously one of the greats when it comes to comic book art. What I love about this thought is the negative space of the Silver Banshee’s costume being used. It’s been done before, no doubt, but the colors and the shapes really give a cool sense.

Mondo announced today its partnership with Studio Ghibli, presenting a poster series coinciding with the studio’s retrospective at the IFC Center in New York City. The first entry is an Olly Moss poster for the breathtaking Miyazaki film My Neighbor Totoro

Just read about this new Circle of Four book thats coming out starring some of my favorite characters. I love how it takes the inspiration from back when there was the “new” Fantastic Four with Ghost Rider, Wolverine, Grey Hulk, and Spider-Man. Remender is quickly becoming one of my preferred writers. He doesn’t mind taking on the darker characters who will cross the line, but he also deals with what a struggle that is for them.

Four quick posters I made for the movie class at this past summer’s Ross Creek Centre for the Arts Summer Camp.

Katie Cook, you get me so well. Katie Cook’s contribution to the DC Fifty-TOO! blog is the adorable, yet filled with hate, Dex-Starr.

Check out the whole blog to see some other awesome covers by artists you should know about.

I enjoy the high contrast. I feel like this would lend itself to a lino block carving or stamp.

ladiesgottasers:

I did a little Spider Jerusalem doodle. I finished the full run of Transmetropolitan yesterday, and am quite thrilled by it. All my vicious fantasies were fulfilled within its pages. Also, taking a closer look at Darick Robertson’s style has helped me try out some more graphic-y elements. Fun stuff.

Its been a little while, but here is new illustration that I did for The Coast’s Sustainable City section. When I saw the title, “The Fracking Truth” I immediately assumed they were making a Battlestar: Galactica reference. Apparently not tho. Its about hydraulic fracturing and how the process to obtain natural gas is pretty shitty for the environment. The Cylons hate humans, so it was only fitting that they took part in the “fracking”.
