Knife of the Party

Beautiful poster from the seven part Avengers poster series from Alamo Drafthouse. This particular poster “Black Widow” was done by artist extrodanaire, Olly Moss.

The whole write up about the poster series is here.

I really dig this design for the cover more than the final product. I still really like the final design and can appreciate the effort put into it, but I found the subtly and pattern really interesting visually. In the end though, you have to do what the client wants you to do. I also enjoy the use of color in the final version.

Read about the whole process here.

I did a little side design project for trade for one of my local comic book stores, Quantum Frontier. The owner plans on doing some more projects that help local causes and I’m super happy to be helping him out with the work. The store credit doesn’t hurt either.

I watched the trailer for “The Cabin in the Woods” last night and at first I thought it was your run of the mill cabin slasher yatta yatta yatta, but its not. It is a strange, sic-fi, slasher horror conspiracy thing. I’m really excited. I haven’t heard about this at all until I saw the trailer. The other posters for this weren’t as cool as this one, but they do play on the minimal humor that is in the movie. April is a long ways away unfortunately.

Men in Black 3 Movie Poster Graphic Design

One of the two posters revealed for Men in Black 3. I’m glad this is coming back. It was a fun, sci-fi series of movies. What I really wish though, is for the cartoon series to be released in completion on blu-ray or netflix.

Fictional concert poster for the Artem de Machinis design blog.

I’m really into this type of music now. I think the electronic/techno or whatever has really started to grow on me. I don’t know much about music, but I know what I like.

The poster for the original version is super scary. I remember seeing it at movie stores when I was a kid and thinking that this movie was probably going to be the scariest thing I’d ever see.

I got really excited to see it when I noticed it was on Netflix. I didn’t hate it, but I think the modern remake is the far superior film. I found the modern version to actually be frightening while the original is kinda silly.

These are a couple of playing cards I designed for the design blog Artem de Machinis. I liked this project a lot. Playing cards are something that everyone knows, so it was fun to play around with breaking and adhering to their mold.

Graphic Design Layout fashion Photography

Fictional fashion spread I designed for art blog Artem de Machinis. I also took the photo I used as well. I think fashion photography is quickly becoming my favorite kind to shoot.

Really awesome cover illustration from Chris Ware. Really poignant and simple. I really dig his style.
