Halifax Pride Nova Scotia Corbin Fraser Summer

This is Halifax everyone. Shot, edited and produced by Corbin Fraser of “I Backpack Canada.” It is a great look at Summer in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Featuring a lot of places that are mainly downtown, but that is what most tourists get to see, so we can’t fault that. It is great to be reminded that the place you live in is actually pretty cool and people do like to be here.

For all the “I’m-sick-of-Halifax-I’m-moving-to-Toronto-or-Montreal” Haligonians, maybe you should take a step back and look at the great place you live in.

Thanks Corbin.

This past weekend was pretty full of activity. Looking back it was awesome, but at first it was a little rough. I wanted to relax more, but this was a much better solution.

1) I picked up a Magic Event Deck last week for my friend Nathan for his birthday and he played it outta the box and it was great! It did really well. So well, that I decided to pick the same one up for myself. I’m slowly in the process of modifying it to fit my needs and see whats good in the world of mono-black in Magic.

2) Last night, I got together with some of my friends and we played a game of Heroscape. If you don’t know, it is a board game with simple dice rolls and is similar to heroclix, but you have pieces from all different times and dimensions. Its super easy to learn and the real fun is when you are laying out the customizable board. It uses little hexagon pieces that fit together and you can layer them for hire areas and what not. Really fun.

3) In an effort to keep fit, I’ve started looking at getting a road bike for the city. I don’t need to drive everywhere, but I tend to when I need to go somewhere in a rush. I’m hoping a bicycle will help out with that, so I don’t need to drive all the time. I’ve been looking at fixed-gears because they move really fast and tend to be low maintenance. This green one is on sale at a local shop, but I’m not sure how much is too much for a bike.

4) Probably the best part of the weekend was getting the backyard taken care of. It has been this massive jungle of grass and weeds, but we managed to chop a lot of it down and we found an old fence out there and have repurposed it as a ground deck. I’m excited to have some little get-togethers outside. JJ also planted a load of flowers and things. So soon there will be lots of color back there.

While doing work today, I got a glimpse of what must normally go on when no one else is home. Maddie the dog and Oliver the cat having a littler gander outside on this beautiful July Sunday.

Summer
Via: smitten.

Its so true. Send them outside. I’m going to teach at a summer camp next week. I feel uneasy, because its a Graphic Design class at a Summer camp. So we’ll be inside on computers for most of the day when its beautiful out. I guess the other classes will be inside too. Just seems a little unnerving.
